🐸 When good frogs go bad… Discover the silent threat of chytrids! 🌍
Join us for the last WESA conference of the academic year, where we dive into the alarming world of fungal epidemics threatening amphibian populations worldwide. 🌿
🧠 Our speaker, Dr. Ioana Simona Popescu, DVM, MVetSci, MRCVS, PhD Candidate, is an experienced and highly specialized veterinary surgeon with over a decade of international clinical practice, focusing on exotic, wildlife, and small animal medicine.
She has held leadership roles in veterinary hospitals across Europe, the UK, the Caribbean, and the Middle East, including founding Romania’s first exotic animal referral center.
Her clinical expertise spans surgery (soft tissue and orthopaedics), exotic animal imaging, and zoo medicine. She also has a strong academic background with a Master’s in Conservation Medicine, ongoing PhD research on amphibian epidemiology, and various postgraduate certifications.
